Introducing Kobe

So, I must confess.  This post has absolutely nothing to do with interior design but hopefully it will open someone’s eyes to the goodness that surrounds them everyday.  To introduce Kobe I must first introduce you to my sister, Hailey and her amazing husband, Matthew.  They were the proud pet parents of this bundle of fur while serving as full-time missionaries in the Philippines.  During their time overseas, they launched a coffee house, Fuel.PH, that would serve up more inspiration and hope than it would coffee.

On a trip back to the states to spend time with family, they were killed in an auto accident.  I won’t detail the events of that time or my personal walk through the dark shadows of grief (you can check out my online journal about grief at http://soulchocolates.wordpress.com ) but I will tell you that I know with resounding clarity that God can take all things, even the excruciating, and use it for our good.

My mum was determined to bring Kobe back to the states.  With the help of Rodney McDonald, a missionary serving in Iloilo, they were able to do just that.  Kobe has been with us ever since.  What’s odd is for a dog born and raised in a hot, sandy area, he absolutely loves the snow!
